If you choose a less expensive type of lattice skirting you will most likely want to paint it. Two hinges are sufficient for a panel that s shorter than 8 feet but use three hinges on one that s longer. Position a screw every 6 inches to 8 inches and sink it in place around the entire lattice panel. Hang the framed lattice panels from the porch with either 3 or 4 inch strap or t hinges.

The bottom of the frame can rest on a few bricks to keep the wood off the ground. To install lattice start by assembling wooden frames that are 1 inch shorter and 1 2 inch narrower than the openings you re trying to cover. You can either screw or nail through the lattice sheet to a support. Sink it through the lattice into the post to secure it in place.

To add visual interest install each lattice panel at an angle instead of straight up and down. Make each frame so it has 4 sides and a center stile. Next cut some lattice panels using a sabre or circular saw so they fit over the frames and secure them to the frames with pan head screws and washers. Deck skirting can be an attractive feature that can be added to any low level deck.

Wood lattice can be built from high quality lumber and stained for an elegant natural wood finish. Each lattice panel may hold in place on its own but securing them with screws would help. The channels will have a 1 2 or 5 16 rabbit cut for which the panels fit into. Repeat until lattice covers the open structure.

Double that distance and subtract from the total distance. You can use boards to construct a wall around the bottom of your deck. Another option is to use wood or vinyl lattice material. Screw the hinges to the frames first then set the panels in the openings under the porch.

Place a 2 inch screw up to the top corner of the panel. The sides of the frame will be flush or slightly back from the piers. You can put the lattice on the front of the support post you can frame the lattice sheet and install on the front of the support post use a u channel or install the lattice without a u channel. The top of the lattice frame will fit and be held in right behind the porch fascia board.
